Horses are highly intelligent and complex creatures with natural behavior patterns. Through handler understanding and training horses are capable of incredible feats. Understand a horse's basic needs and behaviors is the first step in having a healthy and safe working relationship with a horse. Sometimes knowing this knowledge isn't enough and additional tools can be used to create the behaviors desired.
Gursky Performence Equine utilizes two key methods of behavior medicine:
Behavior Pathologies is a scientific method of manipulating the factors that make up a horse's behavior pattern are used to turn any horse with “bad habits” into a working partner you can enjoy and feel safe with.
Behavior Development is a meticulous series of drills and exercises used on previously unridden or unhandled horses bringing them to the top level of performance limited only by their genetic makeup.
DENTISTRY
When it comes to horses "routine care" is common knowledge. Horses need food and water, hoof care, veterinary care, shelter and exercise but what about dental care? Horses are living longer than ever, and this longevity directly effects a horses teeth which were created to last 20 or so years. Beginning proper dental care at birth allows the treatment of issues in the early stages preventing larger issues down the road. Oral pain can lead to performance issues, difficulties riding and even controlling the horse.
Gursky Performance Equine uses state of the art mobile dentistry equipment and applications second to none in the North Texas area. We offer a full range of services as well as diagnosing issues with portable digital radiographs and oral endoscope for accurate diagnosis and manipulation of the oral structures.
